My gift to you: Hydrangea blossoms

– Oak-leaf hydrangea

The CliffsNotes version of Tuesday’s commentary:

Yesterday’s post about “Religious decline in America” was – to me at least – an important commentary on contemporary Christianity. Consequently, not that many people read it!! So here are the key bullets if you skipped the complete version:

  • I am an active, thinking, enthusiastic follower of Jesus.
  • I have never felt that any political affiliation leaned “more (or less) Christian” than another.
  • I am sad that so many people are missing out on the beauty and the glory of an active partnership with God in their lives.
  • The politicized religion so many people are turning away from is not the message of Jesus.

Today, however, is all about hydrangea in our back garden. Hundreds of blooms have now set, and the first few are beginning to turn into spectacular flowers.

So enjoy the remarkable ongoing work of creation. I, for one, am grateful for the imagination and the art that God puts into something even so simple as a garden shrub.

God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.
