It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera… they are made with the eye, heart, and head.
-Henri Cartier-Bresson
I have a really great collection of photographs to share this week, both from Tarboro and from Wake Forest, where we have spent a couple of days with follow-up eye appointments for Rebekah. That and for me to do taxes… but I really don’t want to talk about that!
Also, thanks to Naomi in Orlando, I have a couple of really wonderful images of the children (and their parents). So here they all are, explained:
The first is of course Mr. Max, happily chasing al the smells and new rabbit holes and possible neighborhood children sightings – anything he may have missed since his last visit to Wake Forest. Later, during our evening walk, we were caught in a sudden downpour a good half mile from the house; we were both completely soaked through!
Then five photographs of the front of the house. The azaleas have been lovely, and the Japanese Maples are all beginning to make a statement.
Next, three portraits, featuring Naomi and David, Geoffrey, and then a very cool imaged that surface recently, Rebekah’s great-great grandparents on her mother’s side.
I may write more about this another time, but I have now joined the camp of daily WORDLE players. It’s a fun way to get my brain moving in the morning – albeit sluggishly.
The yellow flowers are cuttings from my mother’s rose bush, planted at Wake Forest Presbyterian church this past Sunday. The salmon is more good work from my air-fryer. And the last shot simply reminds me that Rebekah is not afraid to order a giant calzone!
So there you go, this past week in photographs. I have one more story, from Thursday evening, but it will have to wait for another post.
Peace, blessings, and a wonderful weekend to all – DEREK
