Friday Photo Grab-bag: fun and beauty and love

This morning’s grab-bag of photos from this past week includes new angles looking at our church, more wildflowers, Max exploring a restored house in our neighborhood, another night shot from the Calvary churchyard, three photographs of the new kitty in Florida, and two cooking shots.

One of my constant intentions via photography is to look at things – and life – from a new angle, a fresh perspective. I especially like the misty morning shot looking toward the church from Pitt Street. The other – in the gallery, below – was taken on St. James, with the Methodist church in the foreground.

You can see Max in the living room of a home round the corner on Patrick. It was recently renovated and occupied by a couple who recently moved here from New Hampshire. They not nearly finished moving in, but I encouraged them, “Don’t lose the minimalist vibe – it’s working beautifully in this room.

Meanwhile, down in Orlando, Beks is trying to introduce the new kitty to the family dog, Kylo (also in the gallery below). Kylo and Milo are not making much progress to date; but eventually – and if the new intruder, Milo, teams up with the other cat – Kylo is going to have to accept the new situation.

Finally, I was very much pleased with my skillet full of lamb chops this week. Sautéd with onion, celery, garlic and mint, then finished in the oven and served with potatoes and green beans.

The final slide is air-fried pork loin. If I didn’t get a few foodie images in then it wouldn’t be a legit photo-Friday!

Stay tuned for more over the weekend; and – if you are anywhere in range of Tarboro – make sure to stop by the church for our “Arts in the Garden” festival. 10:00-1:00 Saturday. The event is showcasing art and artists, raising money to help children, here in Edgecombe County, and providing an opportunity for family fun all over and around our lovely grounds.

Peace and love, always – DEREK
