I see trees of green
Red roses too
I see them bloom
For me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful worldI see skies of blue
And clouds of white
The bright blessed day
The dark sacred night
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world – Louis Armstrong
Today’s “Photo Friday” is one of the best compilations I have had in a while. Just one of those busy weeks that also included a lot of great photo-ops.
Wednesday, for example, I drove over to Pinetops to meet a friend and I couldn’t help but stop the car and take a couple of photographs while going through some of these beautiful fields.
But the week started last Sunday, when we gave our friends Chauncey and Tammie a tour of the “work in progress” on St. Patrick Street. It’s always fun to share the vision and the challenge.
Monday saw our Orlando grands, Beks and David, both heading out for the first day of Middle School, sixth and seventh grade. Good grief!
Then of course there is always a new view, a different perspective, a higher water level and more down at the Tar. It seems to have crested in the middle of the week.
Over in Poland, Andrew and Alicia and Mr. T. are getting settled into their apartment in Old Town Krakow. It looks like a beautiful city, and we are excited about our visit coming up in December.
Then, Thursday afternoon, we drove over to Wake Forest for another foray into the endless task of packing up our home here. So dinner out at the locally sourced Farm Table restaurant followed by a couple of hours at the hardware store (Rebekah’s absolute favorite after-dinner destination!).
Yes, so much going on and so much beauty and love to be found everywhere we look! We are grateful, every day, to be in this world. Louis Armstrong’s words ring true in every way: “And I think to myself, what a wonderful world….”
Enjoy the pictures, then make the commitment to always be looking out at this world with fresh eyes, imaginative eyes, grateful eyes.
Peace and more peace, always – DEREK
