When God began to create the heavens and the earth— the earth was without shape or form, it was dark over the deep sea, and God’s wind swept over the waters— God said, “Let there be light.” And so light appeared. God saw how good the light was. – Genesis 1:1-4a
Here, as promised, is “Part III.” I guess there could be more, later, but at this point I think the photographic essay works nicely as:
- While the snow is coming down Tarboro’s Historic District in Wednesday’s Snow…
- Nighttime Snowscape and…
- Winter in the morning light.
I did think about sleeping in and grabbing some photographs later in the day, but the combination of first light, fresh snow and the promise that every new morning brings is – always – too inviting.
This selection will simply follow today’s morning walk, and I invite you to come with me:
First, the colorful sky around the meeting of St. Patrick and St. James, next down to the roundabout on Main, then looking into the Tar, walking on back up Main Street through the town as far as First Baptist and the old theater, turning right past the Mayo home and finally down Saint Patrick before arriving home.
“Where we love is home – home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts.” – Oliver Wendell Holmes.
