“Close your eyes. Hear the silent snow. Listen to your soul speak.” ― Adrienne Posey
These snow days have been kind of like a holiday. I understand that bringing life to a screeching halt is a huge inconvenience, that inactivity can hurt small businesses, and that people’s schedules get messed up – but there is a playful and community-spirited atmosphere in the air that doesn’t come along many other ways.
The crunch of snow underfoot, seeing things in fresh new ways, calling out “is it cold enough for you?” to strangers on the street (but are there any strangers in Tarboro…?), old dogs prancing around in the powder like puppies, walking around the neighborhood holding each other up in case we slip, Rebekah trying to make a snowball and missing me from point blank range!
Our neighbor leaving a tiny snowman on the wall of our new home!
I will leave this short, whimsical post with one more quotable quote:
“I love snow for the same reason I love Christmas. It brings people together whilst time stands still.” ― Rachel Cohn

Derek, Glad you are enjoying the delights of snow in your new home. There I a special hush that comes to places that do not get snow often. The freshness of snow and the twinkle of diamonds in the snow a delight. Enjoy!
We have, thanks! Fun (and beautiful) for a couple of days then gone – just right!
