“You gotta have a dream. If you don’t have a dream, how you gonna have a dream come true?” – Oscar Hammerstein II
Here are a few more moments from our most excellent day in Orlando.
First, two things about the photos from the play.:
- A) They were not set up – I simply snapped them during the production.
- B) The school does not allow posting photos of other cast members, so I can only share David by himself.
When I was a teen I was far too shy to even think about doing anything like this, so mega-kudos to our grandson for being so brave. The troupe developed a real sense of camaraderie during rehearsals, and it was great to see the young people pulling for each other and working together with such affection and respect.
Then, a few more photos from the afternoon with the four-year-old, Geoffrey. He really is a force of nature who can go non-stop for hours without a pause!
His little Jeep is perfect (check out the video). It can’t go much more than walking speed so it works well around the neighborhood on the sidewalks. “Grandaddy! It’s not a real car. I will drive a real car when I am older…” Good to know, bud, we were wondering.
Blessed beyond measure:
Rebekah and I are blessed beyond measure. Sure, life is full and sometimes overwhelming with challenges and setbacks and heartaches… but in the middle of it all there is so much love and beauty and – especially because of the grandchildren – so much promise and hope too.
So take a good look at these children; now go out and live like you want them to grow up in a better world – DEREK
