Grandchildren are the crowning glory of the aged; parents are the pride of their children. – Proverbs 17:6
First, a note on the text from Proverbs: It is a great scripture, yes, but I would have gone with “the crowning glory of their grandparents” – “aged” is absolutely not my first choice of words here!
Regardless, this quick trip to Florida needs to be filed under, “Times it was worth driving for two entire days in order to spend a few short but welcome hours with the grandchildren.”
As soon as Rebekah and I heard that David had landed this important part in the school play we made plans to attend.
He is in 7th grade, this was his first ever experience with drama, and he managed to land the lead role, playing “Mr. Creeps” in “Meet the Creeps.”
And, yes, he absolutely rocked!
More on this in another post. But for today I just want to share these few pictures and be grateful that we had the opportunity to see the children.
The pictures are: Rebekah taking Geoffrey to the park, the amazing Central Florida sky, and of course the justifiably proud parents (Naomi and Craig) with the celebrated Mr. Sinbad Creep.
We are so proud, so very proud. So thankful too – DEREK

So proud of David and both of you for supporting him. A long drive for a short visit, but I bet you will cherish the memories made and that David won’t soon forget that you came all that way for him so you could be part of his big day.
Worth every bump in l-95!!
