The only chance to view our new home pristine and without furniture…

Your life will be brighter than the noonday.
    Even darkness will be as bright as morning.
You will be secure, because there is hope;
    you will look about you and take your rest in safety.
You will lie down unafraid,
    and many will look to you for help. – Job 11:17-19

– our sanctuary

Thanks for all the support and encouragement in response to yesterday’s post about closing on our new (and last) home.

I say “last” because A) Moving is a veritable pain, B) We love this community, and C) Isn’t five enough houses to purchase in a lifetime? Done and done.

The point behind this post is that this is your last chance to see the house empty! Britt West and his crew moved all the super-heavy stuff in Tuesday afternoon, Rebekah and I put down a couple of rugs, and we have already taken over two or three SUV-loads. So if you were counting on a look at the “pristine” version of the new Maul-Hall then it’s already too late!

So I am here to help.

That said, we are all kinds of grateful for everything this home represents. Home is – and always has been – the place, the sanctuary, where we can lift one-another up and practice the kind of love we both talk about with such energy and passion to the world.

So, “God bless this house – this home – with faith, love, light, grace, hope, life, promise and possibility. In the strong name of God, Creator Savior and Sustainer, Amen.” DEREK

      • Max seems to be a total “HAM” (there is another phrase that I do when ‘popping’ into peoples photo app but I don’t want to use that phrase) when photos are being taken. Be well as I know you & family are.

  1. Such a powerful reflection on what home truly means. I love the idea of it being a sanctuary. We felt the same when we finally settled down and brought in a deck contractor to help us create a peaceful outdoor space to match the peace inside.
