“My peace I give you… Not as the world gives…”

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. – John 14:27

It is good to be back home in Tarboro, but our hearts are very much with our family, both 671 miles down the road in Winter Garden and closer to 5,000 miles away in Krakow, Poland.

So this morning, with my head still stuck in “Road-focus mode” cruising I-95, I’m going to share this random collection of photos from the week, the ones that didn’t make it into the stories I already shared.

The new Subaru, by the way, gets a stellar first road-trip report.

What we wanted was a longer wheelbase for a smoother ride, comfortable seating, a quieter cabin, reliability, a little more room, updated tech and a premium sound system. The Outback gives us all this and more and it really helped.

Back in Orlando Geoffrey, our precocious full-throttle force-of-nature youngest grandchild, wanted to show me how to “Hoppy-Scotch” and a still photo doesn’t begin to communicate his energy!

Watch me Hoppy-Scotch Grandaddy!

Then, pretty much in order, here are the rest:

  • Rebekah appreciating the garden at her brother Jesse’s house in Jacksonville.
  • Nighttime at the Campbell home in Winter Garden.
  • David – 13 – mowing the grass.
  • Milo – Beks’ cat (Milo is the nice one; if I had tried to take the other cat’s photograph – Bristow – he would have tried to kill me!)
  • Kylo, the family pup.
  • View across the lake back to the development where our Orlando family live.
  • Two dishes from one of Disney’s fine Italian eateries.
  • Saying Goodbye to Naomi Friday evening.
  • The Subaru gets well more than 500 miles per tank!
  • Pizza on the way home.

Rebekah and I are so very glad to be back in our Tarboro home, and we plan to be in worship this morning even if all we can manage is YouTube Live. You see, our prayers and our hearts are very much still bouncing around on I-95, not willing to rest quite yet, always about embracing hope, but very much on tenterhooks nonetheless.

Peace and every blessing to all – DEREK
