“In the bleak mid-winter, Frosty wind made moan, Earth stood hard as iron, Water like a stone.” — Christina Rossetti
Every time we have snow I tend to respond in the same way – it’s kind of funny, and a little bit predictable, and possibly charming. Here’s how it goes:
- I say, “It’s just snow, I’ve seen it before.”
- I then say, “I hope we don’t get too much.”
- Before long I start hoping for a lot.
- But I say, “I’m staying inside.”
- And I say, “I don’t need to take any photos.”
- Then I start to get excited about the possibility of photos.
- Finally I go outside and take photos.
Every. Single. Time.
This time around the volume of the snow kind of snuck up on me. Then when I made my way outside the cold fluffy stuff immediately went well above and then into my boots.
I was also surprised at how much Max enjoyed it.
So here are just a few photos from this morning. I will share some more, plus my nighttime images late. Enjoy! – DEREK
