January 2023 in 31 photos

I assure you that this generation won’t pass away until everything has happened. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will certainly not pass away.”

Jesus: Luke 21:32-33
– January Photography – 2023

Welcome to the last day of January. This month has been unusually slow vis-a-vis visits and views; however, looking back, this time last year was the same and still we enjoyed record readership by the end of 2022.

This particular collection represents a month where almost every day brought something new and interesting into our lives.

If I were to choose one photograph – my “Image of the Month” – it would have to be Naomi’s wonderful rendering of Geoffrey (two) talking with his grandmama Rebekah via FaceTime. He took her into his little house, closed the door, and just jabbered away.

So Many Stories!

Geoffrey talking with Rebekah

This was a month rich with story. Some of the key themes have been my “fun with orthopedic pain” journey (more on that in a couple of days); keeping up with the grandchildren in Orlando and Manama; Max and his new therapy-dog job; some remarkable food experiences as Rebekah gets involved in the kitchen; winter in Wake Forest; and the sad passage of my dad’s youngest sibling – Auntie Dorothea – into eternity.

Looking back at my posts, January turned out to be a good read too, if you are inclined to take a few minutes to peruse.

So, now February beckons. May your journey into 2023 move forward with grace and with promise into all the amazing possibilities God has in store.

In love, and because of love – DEREK
