Not just talking about but living the Greatest Story

How good and pleasant it is
when God’s people live together in unity!

It is like precious oil poured on the head,
    running down on the beard,
running down on Aaron’s beard,
down on the collar of his robe.
It is as if the dew of Hermon
    were falling on Mount Zion.
For there the Lord bestows his blessing,
even life forevermore. – Psalm 133

David is all tall as his grandmama now!

Life moves fast, so I have to share the balance of these Thanksgiving photos before we get caught up in the December momentum that will soon begin to consume everything!

As I wrote the other day, our Saturday “Alexander Family Thanksgiving” in Jacksonville was a blessing and an encouragement for all of us.

So I wanted to share these photographs – and caption them (you can read all of the captions if you click on the first then scroll through) – to tell a little bit of the story of what we are anchored in as a family. Even when there is sadness and separation there is also healing and promise when we remember where we are rooted.

We are anchored in a specific and beautiful story, and that is The Greatest Story Ever Told. Our story is a part of that story. It is the story of faith and hope, of success and failure, of getting lost and being found, of grace and redemption, of love and more love, of disappointment and promise, of wandering away and then coming home again.

And may God’s good peace, the kind that goes so deep, so wide, and well beyond anything we can understand, guard our hearts and our minds as we live in, and into, the beautiful story of Jesus (paraphrased from Philippians 4:7).

Take a moment to scroll through these images. I can guarantee they will make you smile.

Amen – DEREK
