Things are coming together here in Michigan!

I think this may be “the picture” for the day today. Michigan was blessed with a cooler morning, so Rebekah and I had coffee on the patio, enjoying refreshing temps of around 58-degrees.

It was cool enough that Rebekah needed to rummage for something warm in the hall closet, and the first thing she found was Alicia’s high-school band jacket from 2003.

This was, according to our daughter-in-law, too cool not to photograph!

Of course, Rebekah looks good in anything, so why not a jacket from the Midland “Chemics” 2003 marching band?

This was another day dedicated to working on the A-team home. Hanging pictures, putting up curtain rods, playing with the grandson, hanging drapes, fixing mirrors to the wall, assembling chairs, driving to the outlet mall to pick up furniture etc. etc.

All this plus the truckload of stuff from North Carolina and the transformation is very cool. I plan to share the results in another post, but so far everyone is very pleased with how this home is coming together.

Celebration!

– Happy 10th!

In the evening I cooked a special 10th anniversary celebration dinner, and we shared a wonderful replica of Andrew and Alicia’s wedding cake, courtesy of the Pashby parents.

So, things are coming together here in the middle of Michigan. Andrew and Alicia are making a solid summer home and we are grateful to have been able to help them get settled.

As for that almost-four-year-old grandson, Mr. T…? Well, we’d like to take him home with us for a few weeks! “Camp Grandparent” has a great ring to it, don’t you think…. – DEREK
